03 Week Sketches

My first sketch was a person holding a butterfly while other butterflies surrounded them. I was focus more on immigration because a lot of people in my life have been going through a lot recently due to them immigrating here and wanting to live a better life. Their freedom and dreams are being represented as a butterfly in all my sketches. Many want to achieve their dreams, so that is why the person is holding the butterfly. The other butterflies are creating a sense of emphasis towards the person.
My second sketch is of a butterfly on top of an open book. The book represents education that people want to get and it will provide them a step closer to what they want to accomplish. I wanted to create a bit of unity by placing the butterfly on top, so viewers know that they belong together. To me, you can't really accomplish your dreams without gaining any knowledge.

My third sketch is similar to my first one.  The meaning behind it is similar, but I wanted to create even more emphasis on the person by creating a trail of butterflies. The butterflies are going around the person and creates a type of rhythm because they will eventually meet the person in the middle.
