I created a beach/island feel because I feel like all my pieces are pretty simple and relaxed. This is why I decided to do a sunset. I choose to title it "Contentment" because I'm pretty pleased with my work and it's not very complex. I decided to go with a palm tree with the sunset colors behind it because I didn't feel that the back had to be too complex.  I changed the color of the trunk to go better with the colors around it. Also, I added clouds with transparency. so they add more to the background, but don't steal the emphasis away on the tree. 

This week's project was to began our cover page for our portfolio. I was struggling to come up with a theme for my portfolio, but I knew I wanted to do something relaxing. That is why I chose to do an island's sunset for my cover. I will be approaching this by doing vector art and trying to make it simple, but pleasing to look at. For my back cover I'm not sure if I just want to do a palm tree on it's own with sunset colors in the back or just have the sunset without trees.
